River Roast and Chef Cedric Harden

Situated on the iconic Chicago River with stunning views of downtown, River Roast is a lively social house and gathering place.The food is hand crafted featuring contemporary American tavern fare with dramatic presentations of whole roasted chicken, whole roasted fish, and slow roasted beef – all carved table side.

Chef Cedric Harden is the leading force behind the culinary program at River Roast. Growing up with the natural inclination and desire to cook for his family, Chef Cedric’s passion for food was sparked at a very early age.His devotion to cooking and bringing people together through food is what inspired him to study the culinary arts.Chef Cedric worked his way through kitchens including Wolfgang Puck Catering Company and as sous chef at Urban Belly, Belly Shack and Belly Q. With a strong focus on Midwestern comfort food, he thoughtfully creates shareable dishes that are meant to bring joy, and that capture the love and warmth that the region’s cuisine is known for.Chef Cedric curated a menu of his favorite adventurous dishes for our Crew to taste and talk about.

Dr. Erika Montgomery

Dr. Erika Montgomery is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with 23 years’ experience providing mental health treatment to children, adolescents, adults, and families. Dr. Montgomery earned a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from VCPP and has been in private practice in Oak Park, IL for the past 20 years. She hosts a weekly podcast on iHeart Radio called, “Master Your Mind with Dr. Erika.” Dr. Erika will lead an interactive discussion with our Crew about emotions surrounding inequality, racial bias, and social injustice.
