Get ready to experience “Reasonably Authentic Chinese Food” from a Top Chef superstar. The Crew is headed to Duck Duck Goat, the brainchild of Top Chef winner Stephanie Izard and one of Chicago’s newest and favorite hot spots. The West Loop restaurant was inspired by her travels through China and many other Chinatowns in America, but also by her childhood memories of Chinese takeout.
Duck Duck Goat boasts creative Chinese fare, including dim sum, hand-pulled noodles, fried rice, and duck and goat dishes. The Crew will sample menu items that are some of Chef Stephanie’s favorites and a few that are Duck Duck Goat signature dishes. Food critics, bloggers and customer reviews have been nothing less of excellent, which makes getting a seat at the table hard to get, so our Crew is in for a real treat.
The 100-seat space is an immersion into Chinese culture itself, divided into five spaces, each with its own story. The vibe is lively, and the décor is striking. This LDC event will be an amazing Chinese cultural experience for both kids and adults.
ABOUT EXECUTIVE CHEF STEPHANIE IZARD
Stephanie Izard started out cooking for amazing chefs such as Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Sean McClain. She won Bravo’s Top Chef competition and soon after opened Girl & the Goat with business partners Rob Katz and Kevin Boehm of BOKA Restaurant Group. Stephanie won the James Beard Award for Best Chef Great Lakes in 2013 and was also named one of Food & Wine Magazine’s “Best New Chefs” in 2010.
